Rocío is a versatile, classical-trained harpist with a Masters in performance from the University of Montreal and Montreal Music Conservatory in Canada. She studied with the world-renowned teacher and performer harpist Judy Loman. Actually specializes in performing for special events like weddings and cocktail parties, receptions, and memorial services. Rocío has an active career freelancing with local Orchestras and Choirs and performing Chamber Music recitals, occasionally with soprano, flute, or violin. She also offers workshops at local libraries and private Harp and Piano lessons at her home studio.
After a long career as principal harpist of Symphony Orchestras around the world, in her home country of Colombia, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Oman, and the US, her passion now is to share the music of this amazing instrument and expand her repertoire of not only classical music but also modern popular songs covers, along with Jazz and Latin American music. Rocío has performed in hundreds of concerts, many types of venues, and wedding ceremonies.
Rocío also had the privilege of serving as the resident harpist for the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, California, performing regularly during the hotel’s high tea service.
Currently, she is serving in North Carolina and South Carolina. She is willing to travel as needed. Elitharpist studio is located in her home in North Carolina.
